Einstein’s Garden
Einstein’s Garden is revolutionising science engagement. It was the first area of its kind at a music festival in the UK where inquisitive minds explore our relationship with the natural world.
It’s not a place to sit down and be lectured. It is a space where science meets arts, comedy, circus and theatre. It offers a programme of installations, experiments, talks and workshops to delve deep into relevant issues, both big and small, which affect our everyday lives now and into the future.
Einstein’s Garden makes STEM accessible to people who might never attend a traditional science event. It helps researchers develop new ways of communicating their work and inspires audiences to feel a genuine sense of ownership and connection to the scientific ideas that shape our world.

Pandemonium
We launched a bold new Science & Climate programme in 2025: Pandemonium.
Named after Milton’s imagined capital of Hell, where many think we are now, Pandemonium presents the world’s biggest challenges and offers solutions based on research by some of the world’s biggest minds and leading organisations.
It is not an echo chamber where like-minded people express their anger or hopelessness without outcome. Instead, it defies tradition, welcoming content that is subversive, interactive and bold. Pandemonium is a vital experience for anyone ready to engage deeply with the conversation. We discuss topics such as misinformation, climate action, economic development, a healthy and fair society and social sciences.
Above all, Pandemonium is an inclusive space that unites the science, research and academic communities, diverse local groups and radical thinkers to explore challenges that are globally connected but locally experienced. We want to create a grassroots movement where people talk with each other instead of to each other.

Case Study - Cardiff University
Green Man Trust and Cardiff University have built a long-standing partnership working across our training programme and science engagement. In 2025, this partnership gained new momentum with the launch of Pandemonium in Einstein’s Garden - a bold new programme where radical thinkers, researchers, and innovators confront urgent societal and scientific challenges with creativity.
Cardiff University presented 6 engaging talks in Pandemonium’s inaugural year, amplifying research and student innovation to diverse, intergenerational audiences and spotlighting shared strategic goals between Cardiff University and Green Man around co-creating opportunities, driving sustainable and community-led positive change.
“Green Man occupies a unique space in public engagement. Its reputation for creativity and quality makes it an ideal partner to showcase how collaboration between the arts and academia can spark radical solutions. At Cardiff University, ground-breaking research and forward-thinking ideas are being developed every day, and through Green Man, that work reaches diverse and global audiences. This creative partnership also challenges our researchers to develop new skills in public engagement and rethink how they present their work to connect and inspire people from all walks of life.’ Wendy Larner, Vice-Chancellor, Cardiff University
